King of Thieves

King of Thieves is a 2004 drama film directed by Slovak filmmaker Ivan Fíla, who also wrote the screenplay. A co-production of Austria, Germany and France, the German-language film was released in Germany as König der Diebe and runs approximately 101 minutes.

The film tells the story of the fate of a street boy named Barbu. The cast includes Lazar Ristovski, Katharina Thalbach, Paulus Manker, Birol Ünel, Werner Daehn and Oktay Özdemir. It was selected as Slovakia's submission for the 2005 Academy Awards.
