Hitman: Agent 47

Hitman: Agent 47 is a 2015 action thriller based on the Hitman video game series developed by IO Interactive, serving as a reboot of the 2007 film. It marked the feature directorial debut of Aleksander Bach, while the screenplay was written by Michael Finch and Skip Woods, the latter having also penned the earlier adaptation. A co-production of the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom, the film premiered in August 2015 and opened in US theaters on August 21, 2015.

The story follows a genetically engineered assassin, known only by the final two digits of the barcode tattooed on the back of his neck, as he confronts a corporation seeking to replicate the program that created him. Rupert Friend stars as Agent 47, alongside Zachary Quinto, Hannah Ware, Thomas Kretschmann, Ciarán Hinds and Angelababy. Made for roughly $35 million, the film grossed about $82 million worldwide but was panned by critics, mainly for its screenplay and lack of fidelity to the source material.
