Born Angela Yeung Wing on 28 February 1989 in Shanghai, the performer works internationally under the stage name Angelababy, a blend of her English first name and a childhood nickname. Based mainly in Hong Kong, she has built a multi-track career spanning modeling, acting, singing and business ventures, and by 2013 industry press had already ranked her among a small group of the era's most bankable young actresses on the Chinese mainland.

Her breakout screen recognition arrived in 2016, when a supporting turn in the adventure blockbuster Mojin: The Lost Legend brought her the Hundred Flowers Award. She spent nearly a decade as a regular on the hit variety show Keep Running, from its 2014 launch through 2023, while also branching into English-language cinema with a role in Hitman: Agent 47.
