Caravan to Vaccarès

Caravan to Vaccarès is a 1974 British-French action and spy film directed by Geoffrey Reeve. Adapted by screenwriter Paul Wheeler, it is loosely based on Alistair MacLean's 1970 novel of the same name. Released in France as Le Passager, the film stars David Birney, Charlotte Rampling and Michael Lonsdale.

Set in the Camargue region of southern France, the story follows Bowman, a young American traveler hired by a French duke to smuggle a Hungarian scientist—who fled from behind the Iron Curtain hidden in a gypsy caravan—safely to America. Along the way he crosses paths with Lila, an English photographer, while a ruthless gang determined to sell the scientist to the highest bidder closes in. The 98-minute film, scored by Stanley Myers, also features Françoise Brion and Marcel Bozzuffi in its cast.
