Devil, My Friend (Arkadaşım Şeytan)

Arkadaşım Şeytan is a 1988 Turkish comedy film directed by Atıf Yılmaz and written by Ümit Ünal. Inspired by Christopher Marlowe's famous play Doctor Faustus, it tells the story of a musician who sells his soul to the Devil in exchange for fame. As the struggling musician's bargain with the Devil unfolds, he comes to realize that ordinary people can be even craftier than the Devil himself. Blending fantasy and musical elements, the film stars Mazhar Alanson in the lead role, with Yaprak Özdemiroğlu and Özkan Uğur also in the cast. It is remembered as one of Atıf Yılmaz's lighter, more offbeat works.
