Anastasia

Anastasia is a Greek romantic drama series created by Mirella Papaeconomou and broadcast on Mega Channel from 16 September 1993 to 20 January 1994. Directed by Giorgos Kordellas, it ran for a single season of 18 episodes and ranked among the most successful productions of its era, at times drawing ratings above 60 percent.

The story follows 21-year-old Anastasia, a student from Patra who studies acting at the National Theatre while working as a model. During a photo shoot she begins a passionate affair with Pavlos Kyriazis, a recently divorced middle-aged businessman, and then unknowingly falls in love with his son Alexandros. Once the truth emerges, the love triangle shatters the family's bonds, and Anastasia ultimately leaves for Italy to start over. Starring Myrto Alikaki alongside Minas Chatzisavvas and Alkis Kourkoulos, the series was considered bold for 1990s Greek society; its soundtrack, composed by Dimitris Papadimitriou and sung by Eleftheria Arvanitaki, became the first platinum-certified TV soundtrack in Greece.
