A Man in Love

Directed by Diane Kurys, the 1987 drama A Man in Love follows Steve Elliott, a famous Hollywood star known for his roles in American commercial films. Against his manager's advice, he accepts an offer from Italy to appear in an art film shot in Rome. During production he falls in love with his co-star, the beautiful actress Jane Steiner, who returns his feelings and moves into his home. But their fairy-tale romance is complicated by Steve's marriage and the entangled relationships around them. Starring Peter Coyote, Greta Scacchi, Jamie Lee Curtis and Claudia Cardinale, the film was Kurys's first English-language work and was screened as the opening night presentation of the 1987 Cannes Film Festival.
