Seray Kaya — Biography

Seray Kaya was born on 4 February 1991 in Istanbul; her father's family is from Giresun and her mother's from Samsun, with Circassian roots. She trained as an actress at the Sadri Alışık Culture Centre.

Between 2012 and 2014 she played Rezzan in the ATV series Huzur Sokağı, and from 2014 to 2015 she played Miray in Kocamın Ailesi on Fox. From 2016 to 2017 she played Gül Özdemir in Gülümse Yeter on Show TV. She had her breakthrough role as Şirin Sarıkadı in the Fox series Kadın, broadcast from 2017 to 2020, and has said she faced considerable criticism on social media for portraying a negative character. In 2019 she made her film debut in Türkler Geliyor: Adaletin Kılıcı, playing Maria. From 2020 to 2021 she played Lena Hatun in the historical series Kuruluş: Osman on ATV, and from 2021 to 2022 she played Cemre Uysal in Mahkum on Fox, an adaptation of the South Korean series Innocent Defendant. From 2022 to 2023 she played Elif in the ATV series Bir Küçük Gün Işığı.

Kaya's father, Hasan Kaya, died of a heart attack on 3 February 2019, a day before her 28th birthday; she announced his death on Instagram and, on 4 February 2020, released a song titled "Baba" in tribute to him.
