Mohammad Abdi — Biography
Mohammad Abdi is an Iranian film actor born in Tehran in 1923. He began his artistic career on stage, appearing in the 1946 play Molla Nasreddin, before moving into cinema in the film Nights of the Temple, directed by Nasser Koorechian. He went on to found the Zohreh Film Studio in 1958 and the Shahin Theater in 1960. Across the 1950s through the 1970s he appeared in numerous Iranian productions, including Mother's Kiss (1956), Sorrows and Joys (1967), Joseph and Zuleika and Ghoroube Botparastan (both 1968), Melikşah (1969), The Brother and Fireworks of the City (1971), City of Sunlight and Happy Birthday (1972), Negro (1973) and Antar-o-Mantar (1976). He has been described as one of the oldest surviving Iranian actors.
