Metin Günay — Biography

Hakkı Metin Günay was born on 26 January 1963 in Isparta and studied architecture at Yıldız Technical University before turning to television and film directing. Active behind the camera since the mid-1990s, he has directed close to twenty series and films, including widely watched productions such as Deli Yürek, Ekmek Teknesi, Diriliş: Ertuğrul and Kuruluş: Osman.

He also directed projects such as Rüzgarlı Bahçe, Aynalar, Pars Narkoterör and Evvel Zaman Hikayesi, and appeared as an actor early in his career in the series Süper Baba. Günay, who lost his father in 2018, is known for his interest in historical and dramatic storytelling.
