Ersin Korkut — Biography

Born to a Kurdish family, Ersin Korkut came into the world in Hakkâri on 8 November 1977; before breaking into acting he drove a taxi in his hometown and later washed dishes at a pizza shop in Istanbul, where his relative, the actor and director Yılmaz Erdoğan, spotted him and brought him into the Beşiktaş Cultural Center in 2000.

He got his stage start almost by accident, picking up a small part in a play while working backstage, and soon gained wider recognition through a series of commercials he shot alongside Cem Yılmaz. Through the 2010s he appeared in a string of popular comedies: Kutsal Damacana: Dracoola (2011), İçimdeki Ses and Patron Mutlu Son İstiyor (both 2014), Ekşi Elmalar (2016), Parayı Bulduk (2017) and Organize İşler: Sazan Sarmalı (2019), while also becoming a household name through his role on the sketch show Çok Güzel Hareketler Bunlar, which aired from 2008 to 2011.

In 2020 he joined the reality show Survivor, withdrawing partway through the season due to an injury.
