Ersin Korkut — Biography

Ersin Korkut is a stage and film actor best known for the distinctive accent and the naive, likeable characters he brought to BKM's comedies. After driving a taxi in Hakkâri he worked as a dishwasher in an Istanbul pizzeria, and he turned to acting with the support of his relative Yılmaz Erdoğan.

He moved to Istanbul in 1998 to look for work, and his cousin Yılmaz Erdoğan found him at the pizzeria and invited him to the Beşiktaş Kültür Merkezi. From 2000 he worked in various departments at BKM. While working backstage on the play Bana Bir Şeyler Oluyor he spotted a part that suited him and began acting with it. He became known for the line "Doktor bu ne?" in the Doritos commercials he made with Cem Yılmaz. He entered television with Sevinçli Haller (2004) and cinema with Organize İşler (2005), and won a wide audience as part of BKM's programme Çok Güzel Hareketler Bunlar. In 2007 he appeared with Şafak Sezer in Kutsal Damacana and in 2009 in Yılmaz Erdoğan's Neşeli Hayat. In later years he appeared in comedies such as Patron Mutlu Son İstiyor, Kolonya Cumhuriyeti, Ekşi Elmalar, Parayı Bulduk and Organize İşler Sazan Sarmalı.

Alongside theatre and film he took part in the competition show Survivor in 2020, leaving it on 12 May 2020 because of an injury.
