Cemre Kemer — Biography
Cemre Kemer is one of the founding members of Hepsi, the girl group that drew huge attention in Turkey in the mid-2000s, and is known as a singer, songwriter and actress. She announced in 2018 that she was leaving music to focus on social media content, and works in that field today.
The stage was familiar to her from childhood: she performed with the children's ballet at the Atatürk Cultural Centre, studied in the ballet department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University's State Conservatory, and took voice and piano lessons. She entered the media through an İsmail YK music video and the commercial Trafikte 1 Dakika. In 2005 she formed Hepsi with childhood friends Eren Bakıcı, Gülçin Ergül and Yasemin Yürük; their first album Bir broke sales records in Turkey, and the song "Bad Penny" made the group known abroad. In 2006 Hepsi toured with Sezen Aksu under Pepsi sponsorship, followed by the albums İki (2007), Şaka 10+1 (2008) and Geri Dönüşüm (2009).
She moved into acting with the lead in Hepsi 1, a series named after the group, then appeared in Avrupa Yakası, Benim Annem Bir Melek and the film Kısık Ateşte 15 Dakika; in 2009 she took the lead in Kayıp Çocuklar Cenneti, and in 2013 joined the dubbing cast of Pinocchio. In 2016 she said Hepsi would return, but no new work followed, and after announcing a solo album in 2017 she said the following year that she was quitting music. She married in December 2020 and is a mother of two.
