Betül Çobanoğlu — Biography

Betül Çobanoğlu was born on 6 April 1974 in Ankara. She graduated from the Theatre Department of Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory.

In 1997 she joined the İzmit City Theatre, where she appeared in numerous plays including Hamlet, Lysistrata, Roberto Zucco and The Threepenny Opera, and in time also took on theatre directing. She stepped into film by playing the sultan's daughter in the 1990 film Keloğlan Sultan Kız.

From 2002 onward, alongside her theatre work, she took on film and television roles, appearing in the series Biz Size Aşık Olduk, Yağmur Zamanı and Karamel, as well as the 2007 film Ara, and raised her profile with the series Bitmeyen Şarkı. In 2016 she reached a wide audience playing Derya in Aşk Laftan Anlamaz, broadcast on Show TV and starring Hande Erçel and Burak Deniz. She went on to appear in the series Alparslan: Büyük Selçuklu and Kader Bağları, and continues to take on new projects.
