Darry Cowl Kimdir?
Darry Cowl (asıl adı André Darricau; 27 Ağustos 1925, Vittel – 14 Şubat 2006, Neuilly-sur-Seine), Fransız komedyen, oyuncu ve müzisyendi. Müzisyenlik ve besteciliğe yönelmişken kabarelerde piyanistlik yaparak sahneye geçti; kekemeliği ve peltek konuşmasıyla kurduğu şaşkın tip, 1950'lerin başında skeçleri ve televizyon çıkışlarıyla tanındı.
Sacha Guitry'nin son filmlerinde ona rol vermesiyle sinemada adı duyuldu; 1957'de ilk başrolünü üstlendiği Le Triporteur beş milyona yakın seyirciyle onu komedi yıldızına dönüştürdü. Üç on yıl boyunca yılda beş filme kadar oynadı ve 1964'te Jaloux comme un tigre ile bir kez yönetmen koltuğuna oturdu. Kumar tutkusu yüzünden sanatsal değeri düşük sayısız yapımı kabul ettiği, oynayacağı filmin senaryosunu okumadan sete gittiği anlatılır.
1990'lardan sonra daha iddialı işlere yönelerek eleştirmenlerin beğenisini kazandı. 1995'te iki Feydeau oyunundaki yorumuyla yardımcı oyuncu dalında Molière Ödülü'nü, 2001'de tüm kariyeri için Onursal César'ı, 2004'te de Alain Resnais'nin Pas sur la bouche filmindeki kapıcı rolüyle en iyi yardımcı erkek oyuncu César'ını aldı; bu, sinemadaki son çalışması oldu. 2005 sonbaharında Hold Up adlı oyunla sahneye dönmeyi umuyordu, ancak sağlığı elvermedi. 80 yaşında akciğer kanserine bağlı sorunlar nedeniyle öldü.
