Züli Aladağ — Biography
Züli Aladağ (born 2 January 1968 in Van) is a German film director, producer and screenwriter of Kurdish and Turkish descent.
Having moved with his family to Stuttgart, Germany, where he studied theatre, Aladağ entered the film industry as an intern under director Roland Emmerich. After working through the 1990s as an actor, production manager and screenwriter, he made his directorial debut with Der Ausbruch in 1999, the same year he graduated from the Academy of Media Arts Cologne. He went on to direct numerous socially themed films and television productions, earning nominations and honors including the Grimme Award and the German Film Award.
Known for the 2013 film 300 Worte Deutsch, Aladağ was formerly married to Austrian actress and producer Feo Aladağ.
