Yasemin Kozanoğlu — Biography

Yasemin Kozanoğlu was born on 7 July 1978 in Istanbul, the daughter of businessman Ahmet Kozanoğlu and socialite Ahu Tuğbay, and the granddaughter of former Beşiktaş Sports Club president Abdullah Ziya Kozanoğlu. After her parents divorced in 1986, she was raised by her grandmother. She practised figure skating for eight years as a child and, after finishing high school, spent two years in London studying video production.

On returning to Turkey she began working at the music company Raks Marşandiz, and after meeting director Sinan Çetin she moved in front of the camera, first in commercials and then in film. During the 1990s she became one of Turkey's most prominent models. Her acting credits include the films Çilekli Pasta (2000), Yeşil Işık (2001), Romantik (2002), and Avrupalı (2007), as well as the television series Avcı and Hürrem Sultan. Alongside modelling and acting she worked as a DJ, performing in Istanbul nightclubs, and in late 2024 she returned to music with an album after years away from the spotlight.
