Uluç Bayraktar — Biography
Uluç Bayraktar comes from the Gelibolu district of Çanakkale, where he was born on 14 June 1974; he took his degree in radio, television and cinema at Ege University's communication school in 2001. His student short Hayat Bu screened at the İFSAK national competition and at festivals in Istanbul and Kuşadası.
His assistant-directing credits from 2000 onward include Çağan Irmak's Şaşıfelek Çıkmazı, Ziya Öztan's Abdülhamid Düşerken, and Asmalı Konak, before he took sole charge of a production for the first time on Kampüsistan in 2003. Many widely followed series followed under his direction, among them the Kabuslar Evi anthology, Ezo Gelin, Menekşe ile Halil, Karadayı, İçerde, Çarpışma and Babil.
Directing Ezel won him best-director honours at Turkey's 1st İsmail Cem Television Awards in 2010. He has since led Eşref Rüya, Enfes Bir Akşam and El Turco, and in 2021 married Alara Hamamcıoğlu, twenty-five years his junior.
