Cruel İstanbul (Zalim İstanbul)

Zalim İstanbul (Cruel Istanbul) is a Turkish drama series produced by Avşar Film that premiered on Kanal D on April 1, 2019. Written by Özlem Taşağal Yakıcı, the series was directed by Cevdet Mercan for its first 25 episodes, with Şenol Sönmez and Gökçen Usta taking over for the remainder. The story follows two very different families living under the same roof as they face various challenges.

Running for two seasons, the show ended with its 39th episode on June 22, 2020. Starring Fikret Kuşkan, Deniz Uğur, Mine Tugay, Ozan Dolunay, Berker Güven, Bahar Şahin and İdris Nebi Taşkan, the series also found an international audience, airing with subtitles in Serbia on RTV Pink in 2020 and with Persian dubbing on Jam TV in Iran.
