Yor, the Hunter from the Future

Yor, the Hunter from the Future (original Italian title: Il mondo di Yor) is a 1983 science fiction-fantasy film directed by Antonio Margheriti, who was credited in some countries as Anthony M. Dawson. A co-production between Italy, France, and Turkey, it was partly shot in Cappadocia. The screenplay adapts the Argentinian comic Henga el cazador by Juan Zanotto and Eugenio Juan Zappietro, better known as Ray Collins. Reb Brown, Corinne Cléry, John Steiner, and Carole André head the cast.

The story follows the warrior Yor as he searches for his origins in what appears to be a prehistoric world, though it is eventually revealed to be a post-nuclear future. Originally conceived as a four-part miniseries for RAI television, the theatrical cut became one of Margheriti's most financially successful films, yet critics responded poorly, and it received three Golden Raspberry Award nominations in 1984.
