Yoko

Yoko is a 2012 German-language fantasy adventure film directed by Franziska Buch, adapted from the children's book of the same name by Knister. A co-production between Germany, Austria, and Sweden, it was produced by Deutsche Columbia Pictures Filmproduktion and conceived as a partly animated children's film. The screenplay was written by Knister together with Gerrit Hermans and Claudia Boysen. The film was released in Germany on 16 February 2012.

The story follows Pia, a girl who lost her father at the age of nine, whose life changes when she meets a yeti that can turn invisible. Pia names the friendly creature Yoko and tries to protect it from Thor van Sneider, an animal hunter determined to capture it. Jamie Bick stars alongside Jessica Schwarz, Tobias Moretti, Justus von Dohnányi, Lilly Reulein, Friedrich Heine, and Hoang Dang-Vu. The film received mixed reviews from critics.
