Verdi (original title: Giuseppe Verdi) is a 1953 Italian biographical drama film directed by Raffaello Matarazzo. Written by Leonardo Benvenuti, Mario Monicelli and Piero Pierotti, it offers a fictionalized portrait of the great Italian opera composer Giuseppe Verdi, interweaving the turning points of his adult private life with the development of his musical career. The picture was released theatrically in the United States as The Life and Music of Giuseppe Verdi and on video as Verdi, the King of Melody.

French actor Pierre Cressoy plays the composer, with Anna Maria Ferrero, Gaby André and Laura Gore in leading roles. Famous contemporaries such as Alexandre Dumas fils and Victor Hugo also appear as characters, the latter portrayed by Guido Celano. Running 121 minutes, the film was a major commercial success in Italy, grossing over 957 million lire at the box office.
