Too Much Flesh

Too Much Flesh is a 2000 French drama film written and directed by Jean-Marc Barr and Pascal Arnold. Although a French production, it is set in the United States and was shot in English. The film marked Barr's directorial debut and forms the second part, after Lovers, of the duo's trilogy on the theme of freedom, drawing on the Dogme 95 rules championed by Barr's collaborators Lars von Trier and Thomas Vinterberg.

The story follows Lyle, an ordinary man in his thirties living a quiet small-town life with his wife Amy. Everything is upended when his friend Vernon arrives with his girlfriend Juliette: an irresistible attraction develops between Lyle and Juliette, and the affair that follows confronts Lyle with real passion for the first time.

Barr also plays the leading role, with Élodie Bouchez, Rosanna Arquette and Stephnie Weir among the cast. In Turkey the film was released theatrically on 12 July 2002 under the title Aşka Özlem, where the Beyazperde critics' review rated it 2.5 out of 5.
