The Red Siren
The Red Siren (French: La Sirène rouge) is a 2002 French crime thriller and action film directed by Olivier Megaton. It is adapted from Maurice G. Dantec's novel of the same name, published in Gallimard's "Série noire" collection, with a screenplay by Megaton, Norman Spinrad, Alain Berliner, and Robert Conrath.
The film follows Alice, a young girl who tells the police that her mother Eva is a dangerous killer leading a powerful criminal organization. When Eva learns her daughter has spoken, she moves to stop her, while Alice flees from France to Portugal hoping to find her father, receiving protection along the way from Hugo, a mercenary. Jean-Marc Barr stars as Hugo, with Asia Argento and Frances Barber also in the cast. The 118-minute film's original language is French.
