The Players
The Players (original title: Les Infidèles) is a 2012 French comedy anthology built from short segments revolving around male infidelity. Jean Dujardin and Gilles Lellouche star throughout while also writing and directing segments of their own; the remaining chapters are handled by directors including Emmanuelle Bercot, Fred Cavayé, Michel Hazanavicius, Éric Lartigau, Alexandre Courtès and Jan Kounen.
Each sketch follows men who, despite being married or attached, cannot settle for monogamy. The settings range from hotel lobbies and nightclubs to a sex-addiction clinic and the casinos of Las Vegas, and the film keeps asking whether fidelity is really a requirement in a relationship. The ensemble also features Sandrine Kiberlain, Alexandra Lamy and Guillaume Canet. The film was released in France in February 2012, shortly after Dujardin's Oscar-winning turn in The Artist.
