The Pebbles of Etratat

The Pebbles of Étretat (original title Les Galets d'Étretat, released in Italy as Improvvisamente una sera... un amore) is a 1972 French-Italian romantic drama directed by Sergio Gobbi from a screenplay by Vahé Katcha. The film takes its title from Étretat, a coastal commune in the Seine-Maritime department of the Normandy region in north-western France, where the story unfolds. Shot in French and running roughly 100 minutes, it stars Virna Lisi and Maurice Ronet, with supporting performances by Annie Cordy, Grégoire Aslan, Juliette Mills, Michel Robbe, Dominique Zardi and Paul Bisciglia. Also circulated internationally under the title Cobblestones, the picture centers on a love affair set against the cliffs and shoreline of the Normandy coast.
