The Miracle

The Miracle (French: Le Miraculé) is a 1987 French comedy film directed by Jean-Pierre Mocky. Adapted from George Langelaan's short story "Le Miracle," taken from his collection Nouvelles de l'Anti-Monde, the film satirizes the commercialism surrounding the Catholic pilgrimage to Lourdes. It follows a fake invalid traveling to Lourdes who is pursued by an insurance agent determined to expose the fraud.

Starring Michel Serrault, Jeanne Moreau and Dominique Zardi, the film also marks the final screen pairing of Serrault and Jean Poiret. Written by Mocky together with Patrick Granier and Jean-Claude Romer, the 85-minute farce was entered into the 37th Berlin International Film Festival.
