The Man from Cairo

The Man from Cairo is a 1953 film noir directed by Ray Enright and written by Eugene Ling, a British-Italian co-production with some sources also citing American involvement. Starring George Raft, it was released in Italy as Dramma nella Kasbah and Avventura ad Algeri, while English-speaking audiences saw it under alternative titles such as Cairo Incident, Adventure in Algiers and Secrets of the Casbah.

The plot follows a man mistaken for a detective who is sent to Algeria in search of gold that went missing during World War II. Running 81 minutes, the film is notable as Enright's final feature and as the first American film of Irene Papas; the cast also includes Guido Celano.
