The Cavalier from Kruja

The Cavalier from Kruja (original title: Il cavaliere di Kruja) is a 1940 Italian war and adventure film directed by Carlo Campogalliani. Written by Aldo Vergano and Gian Gaspare Napolitano, the 81-minute film stars Doris Duranti, Antonio Centa and Leda Gloria, with Guido Celano, Nico Pepe, Giuseppe Rinaldi, Carlo Duse and Vasco Creti also in the cast.

The film depicts Italy’s 1939 invasion of Albania and was made as a propaganda work in support of Benito Mussolini’s dictatorship. According to French-language sources, it is likely the only fascist Italian propaganda film devoted to that invasion. Shot in Italian, nearly all of its exterior scenes were filmed on location in Albania.
