Sword of the Conqueror

Sword of the Conqueror (Italian: Rosmunda e Alboino) is a 1961 Italian adventure film written and directed by Carlo Campogalliani. Produced by Titanus, it offers a biographical historical narrative set in the 6th century Middle Ages and runs about 96 minutes.

The film follows the clash between Alboin, the Lombard king who conquers the Christian Gepid lands and kills their king, and the king's daughter Rosamund, who vows revenge. Jack Palance stars as Alboin opposite Eleonora Rossi Drago as Rosamund, with Guy Madison, Guido Celano, Andrea Bosic, Carlo D'Angelo and Vittorio Sanipoli also appearing. Roberto Gianviti contributed to the screenplay, while the music was composed by Carlo Rustichelli.
