Strange Occasion

Strange Occasion (original title: Quelle strane occasioni) is a 1976 Italian anthology comedy made up of three unconnected segments, each helmed by a different director. The opening episode, Italian Superman, was shot by Nanni Loy, who declined to sign it — reportedly because of its risqué nature — so it appears in the credits as the work of "Anonimo" (Anonymous). The second segment, Il cavalluccio svedese, was directed by Luigi Magni, while the closing story, L'ascensore, was directed by Luigi Comencini. The ensemble features Alberto Sordi, Stefania Sandrelli and Lars Bloch. Bringing together three distinct directorial voices within a single picture, the film stands as a characteristic example of the Italian sketch-comedy tradition of its era.
