Silent Rebellion

Silent Rebellion (original French title À bras-le-corps, literally 'head-on') is a 2025 historical drama co-written and directed by Marie-Elsa Sgualdo in her feature film debut. A co-production between Switzerland, France and Belgium, it is set in Protestant Switzerland during the Second World War and follows a young girl grappling with an assault and its repercussions on her life and those around her.

Produced by Box Productions, the film stars Lila Gueneau alongside Grégoire Colin, Thomas Doret, Aurélia Petit, Sandrine Blancke and Cyril Metzger. Filming took place largely in Romainmôtier in the canton of Vaud. After its world premiere at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival, it screened at festivals including Seville, Palm Springs, Cairo and Stockholm, and opened in cinemas the following year. It earned seven nominations at the 2026 Swiss Film Awards, winning Best Cinematography and Best Editing.
