Seven Times Seven

Seven Times Seven (Sette volte sette)

Movie · 1968 · 2 people

Seven Times Seven, titled Sette volte sette in Italian, is an Italian crime comedy and heist film directed by Michele Lupo, running about 101 minutes. It was shot in 1968 and released in Italy between 1968 and 1969. Sergio Donati wrote the screenplay, Marco Vicario produced it and Armando Trovajoli composed the music. Combining the planning of a heist picture with humour, the story builds around a carefully staged robbery.

Gastone Moschin stars. The cast also includes Lionel Stander, Raimondo Vianello, Terry-Thomas, Adolfo Celi, Gordon Mitchell, Erika Blanc, Paolo Gozlino, Turi Ferro, Paolo Bonacelli and Ray Lovelock.

The film reached some countries years later. In Germany it opened in cinemas only on 18 June 1973, as Der Coup der 7 Asse; its East German television title was 7 Asse, and later video releases there are heavily cut. In France it was known as Opération fric. In pre-revolutionary Iran it played in cinemas in a dubbed version under a title meaning "Seven Golden Thieves".
