One Day a Year (Senede Bir Gün) (translated)

Senede Bir Gün (One Day a Year) is a 1946 Turkish black-and-white feature film directed by Ferdi Tayfur, who also appears in the cast. İhsan İpekçi adapted the screenplay from his own work and produced the picture for İpek Film; Muhittin Sadak composed the music and Cezmi Ar served as cinematographer.

A drama adapted from a novel and built around themes of love and separation, the film stars Cahide Sonku, one of the leading Turkish stars of the period, as Nazlı, opposite Suavi Tedü as Emin. The cast also includes Cahit Irgat, Hulusi Kentmen, Mümtaz Ener, Halit Akçatepe, Galip Arcan, Sami Ayanoğlu and Atıf Kaptan, making it a notable example of early Turkish cinema produced under the İpek Film banner.
