Quiet Life

Quiet Life is a 2024 drama film directed by Greek filmmaker Alexandros Avranas, who co-wrote the screenplay with Stavros Pamballis. A co-production of France, Germany, Greece, Estonia, Sweden and Finland, the 99-minute film features dialogue in English, Swedish and Russian. Chulpan Khamatova, Grigoriy Dobrygin, Naomi Lamp and Miroslava Pashutina star, with Les films du Worso among the production companies.

Sergei and Natalia flee Russia with their two daughters and seek asylum in Sweden in the hope of a better life. Despite their efforts to integrate, their application is rejected, and their youngest daughter Katja suddenly falls into an unexplained coma caused by resignation syndrome, a condition documented in refugee children, pushing the parents to search for a cure under extreme strain. The film had its world premiere on 29 August 2024 in the Orizzonti section of the 81st Venice International Film Festival.
