Quay of Blondes

Movie · 1954–1956 · 2 people

Quay of Blondes (French: Quai des blondes) is a 1954 French crime film directed by Paul Cadéac, from a screenplay by Michel Audiard and Pierre Foucaud. The cast is headed by Michel Auclair, Barbara Laage and Madeleine Lebeau, with Dario Moreno, Paul Bisciglia and Robert Hossein among the supporting players.

Produced and distributed by Pathé, the picture was photographed in Gevacolor, an early colour process. Shooting took place on location in Marseille and in French Algeria, giving the story a Mediterranean port setting. Lucien Carré served as art director, while the costumes were created by the fashion designer Pierre Balmain. The film stands as a representative example of French crime cinema of the mid-1950s.
