Pietro Micca

Pietro Micca is a 1938 Italian historical war film directed by Aldo Vergano, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Sergio Amidei. Shot at the Fert Studios in Turin, the production is remembered as the screen debut of Clara Calamai, who would soon rise to become one of Italy's leading film stars of the following decade.

The film dramatizes the fate of its namesake, a real figure from the War of the Spanish Succession. Fighting on the Savoy side against the French, Pietro Micca died in 1706 during the Siege of Turin. The principal cast includes Guido Celano, Renato Cialente and Camillo Pilotto.
