Ouvert contre X (released in English as The Case Against X) is a 1952 French crime thriller directed by Richard Pottier from a screenplay by René Floriot. The film stars Yves Deniaud, Élina Labourdette and Yves Vincent, with a supporting ensemble that includes Guy Decomble, Marie Déa, Robert Dalban and Henri Crémieux. It was shot at the Saint-Maurice Studios in Paris as well as on location around the city, with sets created by art director Lucien Carré. Belonging to the wave of post-war French crime pictures, the film builds its tension around a police investigation directed against an unidentified suspect known simply as X, following the procedural conventions of the era's popular polar genre.
