Olivier

Olivier, Olivier is a 1992 French drama film written and directed by Polish filmmaker Agnieszka Holland. The story opens with the disappearance of a family's nine-year-old son in a rural area; years later, a young man turns up in Paris claiming to be the missing boy, yet the family remains uncertain whether he truly is their lost child. Holland uses this ambiguity to examine a household caught between grief, hope and doubt.

Grégoire Colin heads the cast alongside Brigitte Roüan, François Cluzet, Frédéric Quiring and Jean-François Stévenin. Running 110 minutes, the film was entered into competition at the 49th Venice International Film Festival and won an award at the 1992 Valladolid International Film Festival.
