Lost in Karastan

Lost in Karastan (released in Germany as Welcome to Karastan) is a 2014 black comedy directed by Ben Hopkins, made as a co-production between the United Kingdom, Russia, and Germany. The screenplay carries a writing credit for Paweł Pawlikowski, who would later become known as an Oscar-winning director in his own right.

The cast includes Ümit Ünal and Vedat Erincin.

The film had its world premiere at the Montreal World Film Festival in August 2014 and went on to win the Hamburg Producers' Award for European co-productions at that year's Filmfest Hamburg. It was released theatrically in Germany in May 2015.
