L'étalon
L'étalon is a French comedy film directed by Jean-Pierre Mocky and released in 1970. Written by Mocky together with Alain Moury, the roughly ninety-minute picture brings together well-known French performers such as Bourvil and Francis Blanche, alongside Jacques Legras, Dominique Zardi, Luc Andrieux and Michael Lonsdale. The film belongs to the director's prolific period around the turn of the 1970s, when he was establishing his reputation for irreverent, satirical comedies made outside the mainstream of French cinema. Shot in French, it remains one of the many brisk, character-driven works Mocky turned out during those years.
