I Vicerè

I Vicerè is a 2007 Italian historical drama helmed by director Roberto Faenza, with a screenplay written by Francesco Bruni, Faenza and Andrea Porporati. The picture adapts Federico De Roberto's novel of the same title for the screen. Shot in Italian, it unfolds during the stormy years surrounding the unification of Italy, following a family saga that reflects the profound social transformations of that period. Alessandro Preziosi and Cristiana Capotondi head the cast, which also features veteran actor Lando Buzzanca. Buzzanca's work in the film earned him the Globo d'oro prize for best actor.
