Homoti

Homoti is a Turkish science-fiction comedy from 1987, written, produced and directed by Müjdat Gezen, who also plays the lead. Ali, a journalist desperate for a story, fakes UFO photographs using pot lids — only for a real alien, Homoti, fled from the dictatorship on his own planet, to turn up. Ali hides him at home while chasing the scoop, which complicates his romance with his colleague Ayşegül. The cast includes Perran Kutman, Savaş Dinçel, Altan Erbulak and Demet Akbağ. Gezen later recounted that the film was shot for the video market simply "for fun" among friends, and he has judged it harshly himself; even so, it went on to attract a cult following.
