Himmet Ağanın İzdivacı (Himmet Ağa'nın İzdivacı)

Himmet Ağa'nın İzdivacı is a silent film produced in the Ottoman Empire, whose shooting began in 1914 but which could only be released in 1918. Regarded as the third film in the history of Turkish cinema, it was made in Ottoman Turkish, and sources credit Fuat Uzkınay as its director.

The film's prolonged production was caused by the conditions of the First World War. When the actors were drafted into the army, filming was left unfinished, and during this interval the documentary-style film Ayastefanos'taki Rus Abidesinin Yıkılışı (The Demolition of the Russian Monument at San Stefano) was shot instead. The drama was only completed toward the end of the war and finally reached audiences in 1918. It is considered one of the most significant works of early Turkish cinema.
