Hardcore

Hardcore is a 2004 Greek drama film that marked the feature debut of director Dennis Iliadis. Alongside directing, Iliadis wrote the screenplay and co-produced the film with Fenia Cossovitsa and Iraklis Mavroidis. Shot in Greek, it adapts the novel of the same name published in 2000 by two women writing under the shared pseudonym Aleka Laskou.

The story follows Martha and Nandia, two young women who escape difficult lives with their families and are drawn into the nightlife of Athens, where they begin working in a brothel. Amid the violence and pressure of that world, they form a bond and lean on each other to survive. Katerina Tsavalou and Danae Skiadi lead the cast, with Ioannis Papazisis, Omiros Poulakis, Andreas Marianos and Giannis Stankoglou also appearing. The 96-minute film premiered in March 2004.
