Happiness Is in the Field

Happiness Is in the Field (French: Le bonheur est dans le pré) is a 1995 French comedy directed by Étienne Chatiliez from a screenplay by Florence Quentin. The 106-minute film was produced by Fidélité Productions and stars Michel Serrault alongside Eddy Mitchell.

Set in a time before DNA testing existed, the story follows a company executive who seizes on his uncanny resemblance to a man who disappeared twenty-six years earlier, taking over the missing man's identity, family and everyday life in order to escape his own troubles. The film won the César Award for Best Supporting Actor, was nominated in five further categories, and also received the Louis Delluc Prize.
