Go West

Go West is a 2005 Bosnian film directed by Ahmed Imamović. Classed as a comedy drama, it tells a love story set during the Bosnian War. Made in Bosnian and running about 97 minutes, it was developed jointly by two studios, one in Bosnia and the other in Croatia. Imamović wrote the screenplay together with Enver Puška.

At its centre are two male lovers, the Bosniak Kenan and the Serb Milan. After the war breaks out, the two try to get away from its horror by leaving besieged Sarajevo and heading west. Tarik Filipović plays Milan and Mario Drmać plays Kenan. The bond between two people from different backgrounds also lays bare the intolerance and violence that the war spreads around ordinary people.
