Germanicus (Germanikus) (translated)
Germanikus is a German comedy film from 2004 directed by Hanns Christian Müller, with a running time of roughly 95 minutes. Gerhard Polt plays the title character.
Set in ancient Rome, the film follows a Germanic tribesman named Germanikus who is carried off to the imperial capital; arriving there as a slave, he unwittingly stumbles from one mix-up to the next while rising through Roman society.
The ensemble also includes Moritz Bleibtreu and Hilmi Sözer, alongside Gisela Schneeberger, Rufus Beck, Irm Hermann, Anke Engelke and Annette Frier.
