Domina

Domina is a British-Italian historical drama series created and principally written by Simon Burke, with directing duties shared by Claire McCarthy, Debs Paterson and Sallie Aprahamian. Produced by Sky Studios and Tiger Aspect Productions, it premiered on Sky Atlantic in Italy and the UK on 14 May 2021 and ran for two seasons and sixteen episodes.

Starring Kasia Smutniak as Livia Drusilla, the series follows her transformation from a young woman whose world collapses after Julius Caesar's assassination into the wife of Emperor Augustus and the most powerful woman in Rome, examining the era's power struggles from a female perspective. The first season charts Livia's ascent, while the second shows the empress imposing her dynasty against rivals at the imperial court, where power is secured through strategy, conspiracy and calculated marriages. Broadcast in the United States on Epix/MGM+, where the second season debuted in July 2023, the series was cancelled in April 2024 after two seasons.
