Diabolic (Diabolik) (translated)

Diabolik is a 2021 Italian crime action film directed by brothers Marco and Antonio Manetti. Adapted from the comic series created by Angela and Luciana Giussani, it is the second big-screen treatment of the character, following Mario Bava's Danger: Diabolik from 1968.

The story centers on the first encounter between the famed thief Diabolik and his partner and accomplice Eva Kant, drawn from the third issue of the original series, L'arresto di Diabolik. Luca Marinelli plays Diabolik, with Miriam Leone as Eva Kant and Valerio Mastandrea as Inspector Ginko. After premiering at the Noir in Festival on 15 December 2021, the film was released theatrically in Italy by 01 Distribution. It was followed by two sequels: Diabolik: Ginko Attacks! (2022) and Diabolik: Who Are You? (2023).
