Concorde Affaire '79 is a 1979 Italian adventure thriller directed by Ruggero Deodato, working from a screenplay by Ernesto Gastaldi and Renzo Genta. The cast includes James Franciscus, Mimsy Farmer, Edmund Purdom, Venantino Venantini, Van Johnson and Joseph Cotten. The picture was conceived to cash in on the popularity of the 1970s Airport disaster franchise, arriving the same year as The Concorde... Airport '79; Cotten himself had previously appeared in Airport '77. Blending elements of action, disaster, crime and thriller filmmaking, the Italian-language production runs about 95 minutes. Medusa Film released it on March 23, 1979, and it circulated abroad under several alternate titles, among them Das Concorde Inferno in Germany and SOS Concorde in France.
